Box 24d - Description

Box 24d actually consists of three different items.

• The first is the actual procedure code used during the session described in the section Box24d - CPT.
• The second is a two character modifier described in the section labeled Box24d - Modifier.
• The third is a "brief" description of the procedure code (described on this page).

This section describes the third item which is the procedure code description.

The procedure code description is entered when you Record a Session.  Procedure codes descriptions may also be edited for past sessions in the Session History Screen.

When recording a session, DELPHI32 populates the Procedure Code description with the Default Procedure Code description (Insurance form abbreviation) defined in the Procedure Codes Setup screen.

Note:  The space provided on the HCFA-1500 claim form for the description of the procedure is pathetically limited to approximately 5 or 6 characters.  We didn't design the claim form so you are stuck with short descriptions.
